Her background as a premiere acting coach coupled with her ability to create a safe and comfortable filming environment unlocked the door to the most emotionally charged and intimate scenes. She’s a true gift to any director and actor.

 P. Lynn Johnson brings with her over thirty years experience as an actress, director, teacher, producer and coach.  A recent recipient of the Sam Payne Award which honours honesty, integrity and the encouragement of young talent reflects her commitment to empowering all storytellers in a best practices modality.

P. Lynn began her Intimacy Coordination training with Siobhan Richardson in May of 2019 and then in August 2019 with the pioneer of Intimacy Coordination, Ita O’Brien in London, England.

Working as an Intimacy Coordinator before she even knew that term existed, P. Lynn has been the go-to person for young filmmakers at Capilano University in North Vancouver, British Columbia.  As the boundaries are pushed with the emerging cable networks, the need for guidance is growing.

UPDATED JULY 4, 2022

For the past three years, I have had the privilege of working on network programs as well as streaming and cable films and series. My practice has evolved into one that focuses on collaboration and the establishing of consent and agreement with all parties involved beginning with production and including talent and crew. It takes a village to tell a story and everyone plays an integral part.

WHAT IS INTIMACY COORDINATION?

As seen in the August 16, 2019, Vanity Fair article by Laura Bradley:  Intimacy Coordinators Are Changing Hollywood Sex Scenes for Good In the wake of #MeToo, the entertainment industry is looking for ways to make sex scenes safer and more comfortable—catapulting a nascent screen profession to new prominence.

P. Lynn Johnson was our intimacy director and our safeguard. She ensured that protocol was being followed during rehearsals and on set. She helped us unravel the technical knots by re-blocking the actors and adjusting the camera placement. The scene was a success and I look forward to working with her on future projects.
